It is with sadness that we have to announce that our chairperson Eileen Rivett passed away on Thursday 29th July 2004.

A tribute to Eileen would take a whole page
Whatever she did, she held centre stage
Nothing half hearted would she undertake
All that she did, a success she would make
Under her leadership the club has flourished
Likewise her bonsais she carefully nourished
Flowers in her garden she shared with us all
Giving us cuttings, plants and bulbs
To enhance our gardens throughout the seasons
We all will miss her for different reasons

As a businesswoman she was just and fair
Her cooking skills beyond compare
Line dancing, sewing decorating the house
She continued to do without Dave her spouse
Looking after their pond was quite a task
But she wasn't too proud for help to ask
The work that she did behind the scenes
Is still unfolding as we take the reigns
A hard act to follow a high standard set
To meet those standards we'll do our best

As the 'Raffle Lady' she will be remembered
Prising cash from all our members
Persuading us all to go on the trips
Another raffle and bus driver's tips
A fitting tribute via close shows entrants
A 'Pretty Fish' trophy to be presented
The club will miss her, her family too
A Wonderful Lady through and through
A very full life she led to the end
I'm proud to say she was my friend.
